Made a Mano, just like its country of origin, Sicily, is an expression of the encounters between cultures, the fusion of different civilizations and artistic languages. It gathers and reinterprets influences from the East and West, it brings back to life traces of the past and present.
A folding fan ('Sensu' in Japanese) is the object that best embodies this heritage. It has been fascinating all cultures of the world for centuries, becoming a symbol of elegance, lightness and sensuality.
Its essence and formal clearness are interpreted in this tiles collection through few manual strokes. The power of the sign and its connection to history emerge through the use of colours and materials typical of Sicily, like coloured glaze, bronze fusion, handmade cotto or lava stone.
